Teacher Recommendations for College

Hey there! If I taught you as a sophomore in 2009-2010, you might be thinking about college right about now. I will be willing to write a limited number of college recommendation letters, so if you're thinking about asking me, earlier is better. If you're interested, send me an email asking me to write you a letter of recommendation (mrproctor@mrproctor.net). If I say yes, I will need the following from you:

  • A cover sheet listing what you need from me, and when it needs to be submitted. By this, I mean you should have a bullet-pointed list with the various dates by which each thing needs to be done. It's OK if you need to update this later with new applications, but I a checklist of everything in one place so I can make sure nothing gets missed.
  • All the forms and envelopes (stamps attached) I'll need. If you have a choice, online applications are easier. If you're using the common app or other online applications, you'll need to enter my email (use mrproctor@mrproctor.net) in your application.
  • Any materials you can provide that will help me write the best letter possible. (Consider: A resume, your application essay(s), papers you wrote in my class that you're proud of, a description of some of the highlights of your work in my class)
  • Please make sure you include your contact information so I can keep you up to date.

I have also been working as a writing tutor, helping students craft their application essays. If you're interested, get in touch. I hope you're having a fantastic school year -- I miss you all!

-Mr. Proctor
